Kendya Goodman, Junior Barrister at Maitland Chamber
I am a junior barrister at Maitland Chambers. Since finishing pupillage in 2023, I have pursued opportunities to develop a specialism in charities advisory work and litigation. My passion for charities management originates from attending a school in Bangkok that was strongly intermeshed with the development sector, and seeing the good, the bad, and the ugly of non-profit management. I take a keen interest in the CLA’s work, and gave the “legal update” at last year’s conference. Having been a JCR president and now a school governor, I also bring executive committee experience.
Shanzé Shah, Junior Barrister at Old Square Tax Chambers
I am a junior tax barrister at Old Square Tax Chambers, advising in all areas of tax. I am the current co-author of Taxation of Charities with James Kessler and have provided advice on charity law matters within my practice. I completed my pupillage at the GLD before joining my current chambers. Prior to starting at the Bar, I worked in various civil service departments as well as completing scholarships abroad in China, Israel, Canada, Greece and India. I have been an active member of the Middle Temple Committee for the last 3 years.
