Clarity is the oldest social enterprise charity in England, founded in 1854 by Elizabeth Gilbert and our mission is the same today as it was then, to enhance the lives of visually impaired and other disabled people through meaningful employment. We have approximately 110 people working for Clarity, of whom 83% have a disability. We provide employment across a wide range of roles, and support that employment through the production and sale of soap, cosmetics, toiletries and other related products.
We have successfully recruited a number of new trustees in the last few months to the board providing a broad range of skills, such as HR, Marketing etc. However we still would like to recruit a trustee with a legal background to complete our recruitment process.
The Trustees meet every 8 weeks, usually in central London, and meetings tend to run from 3-7pm on a Tuesday.
