Greetings from Scottish Ensemble, the UK’s leading string orchestra, where we have just opened recruitment for new members of our Board.

To help us develop a resilient and bold future plan, we are specifically looking for two candidates with legal expertise, particularly in charity and / or employment law and skills in strategic financial management / accountancy. In time, both would be asked to take up places on our Finance & General Purposes Committee that will be left vacant after two forthcoming retirals.

Scottish Ensemble’s Board seeks to ensure it reflects the diversity of contemporary Scotland, and of our audiences; board experience is not required for both roles, and a full induction and training plan will be offered to all incoming Trustees. We would love to hear from those with a passion for the performing arts and an eagerness to support a cutting-edge organisation with a highly engaged Board. Conversations with key personnel within our Executive Team or Board can also be arranged prior to application.

More information can be found  via our website. A brief taste of Scottish Ensemble’s online work can be found herehere and here – we’ll next be performing live around Scotland on our Concerts for a Summer’s Night tour in June.
